Mr. McCarthy was born in Great Bend, Kansas. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Kansas in Journalism. He graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 1982. He practices in Kansas state and federal courts.
Mr. McCarthy was with the law firm of Williamson & Cubbison until he joined Gilliland & Hayes on March 1, 2006.
He is a member
of the American Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, Johnson County Bar
Association, Wyandotte County Bar Association, The Earl O’Connor Inn of
Court and KADC. He completed the Kansas Bar Association Mediation Training
in 1998. He has served as Judge pro tem in Kansas state and municipal
courts. He has spoken and written in the areas of medical malpractice,
dental malpractice, and nursing home negligence.
