Mr. Waugh was born in Topeka, Kansas. He earned a B.S. in architecture at the University of Kansas. He graduated with Distinction from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law in 1977, where he was a member of the Bench and Robe Society, on the Board of Editors of the Urban Lawyer and the UMKC Law Review. He completed the Kansas Bar Association Civil Practice Mediation Training in 1996.
His practice
focuses primarily on surety law, construction law and construction law
mediation. He is a vice-chair of the ABA Fidelity & Surety Law Committee,
and a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Construction Law
Committee. He co-authored with Carol Smith the chapter, Bonds – Bid,
Performance, Payment for the Kansas Construction Law Manual
published by the Kansas Bar Association. He has presented seminars on
numerous construction law issues, primarily from the surety’s perspective. |
